Mesothelioma is a rare form of malignant cancer that attacks the linings or the heart, lungs, abdomen, and, in rare cases, the testicles. It is known to be caused by exposure to asbestos fibers and does not have a cure. It causes the following symptoms:
- Shortness of breath
- Chest pain
- Fever
- Fluid in the chest
- Coughing up blood
- Pain in the abdomen or rib cage
Due to the fact that mesothelioma presents many of the same symptoms as several other diseases and conditions, it often can go undiagnosed for a long time.
